2017 Summer Interns

RIPLEY COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION WELCOMES INTERNS

(Ripley County, June 7, 2017)  The Ripley County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of, Will Amberger and Cole Vanderpohl, to its staff as interns.  These internships are intended to provide real-life work experience for students wishing to advance their educational and personal development.  Through this internship Mr. Amberger and Mr. Vanderpohl will experience the role that the Ripley County Community Foundation plays in our community’s quality of life.

Will was born and raised in Batesville where he attended Batesville High School. He is now a junior at Wabash College studying political science and history with a 3.84 GPA. He is a Resident Assistant, Student Senator, and also a wrestler for the College. After Wabash, he plans on attending law school and eventually returning to the Batesville area.  “Ripley County offers so much for young men and women. I have a great opportunity to work for the Foundation and give back to the community that gave me so much as I grew up” noted Will on why he pursued this opportunity.

Cole was born and raised in Greensburg where he attended Greensburg Community High School. He is now a junior at Hanover College studying Computer Science and Physics with a 3.04 GPA. He is a Secretary for the diversity club on campus, a Senate Representative, and a Resident Assistant. After he graduates Hanover, he plans on entering the work force for two years before getting his Master’s and his Doctorate. “Everyone should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential. It’s important that we continue to teach the generation of tomorrow, and I am happy to lend my humble service,” Cole stated upon reflecting why he became an RCCF intern.

These internships are funded by a grant from Lilly Endowment, Inc. and are available as part of the Community Foundation Internships (CFI) program, which will be administered through the GIFT (Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow) program at the Indiana Philanthropy Alliance.  CFI is furthering the Endowment’s efforts to build healthy community foundations and provide high-quality internship opportunities in Indiana.
