Ripley Youth Outreach is ensuring that every child in Ripley County will have the ingredients necessary to celebrate their birthday. For the past 3 months the members of Ripley Youth Outreach have been collecting donations to launch their Birthday Box Program. The Birthday Box Program will provide children, 10 and under, whose parents are served by a local food pantry, with the essentials needed to celebrate a birthday. Each Birthday Box will contain cake mix, frosting, candles, and balloons.
On November 20, the members of Ripley Youth Outreach packaged all the donations, creating over one hundred Birthday Boxes that were distributed to the eight food pantries in Ripley County.
While taking donations, Ripley Youth Outreach also received children’s toys, which were donated to the local Safe Passage, and school supplies, that were donated to Jac-Cen-Del’s Kindergarten Care Package.
The members of the Ripley Youth Outreach would like to thank everyone who had donated to their cause, especially LaRosa’s, who supplied the boxes that the supplies were put into.
Ripley Youth Outreach is an initiative of the Ripley County Community Foundation and is composed of students from Batesville High School, Jac-Cen-Del High School, Milan High School, Oldenburg Academy and South Ripley High School.
