The Foundation awarded $3,000 in small grants to six non-profits in the first quarter of 2019. The small grant cycle was developed to assist local charitable organizations with short-term immediate needs. The RCCF Board of Directors is pleased to announce the following grant recipients, each receiving a $500 grant:
Batesville FFA which will support their efforts to host a Tri-State Livestock Judging Contest
Batesville Fire Department to assist with the purchase of a Lucas Mechanical CPR device
Ripley County Tourism Bureau for the Ripley County Reads…One Giant Leap program
Southeastern Career Center to purchase CPR mannequins
Summer Food for Kids of Batesville, IN to supplement operational costs
Tyson Community Foundation for fitness equipment.
The grant opportunities made available by RCCF are important to the continued vitality of Ripley County. Amy Streator, RCCF Executive Director stated, “these grants will ensure that local CPR training programs remain compliant with American Heart Association protocols; will enhance leadership opportunities for local youth; and will expand local STEM opportunities by bringing a portable planetarium to the Milan Library.” Streator further noted, “a relatively small financial investment today will have a significant impact on Ripley County, now and for the foreseeable future.”
The annual small grant process is made possible thanks to the COMMUNITY GRANTING ENDOWMENTS held at RCCF. Currently, there are 21 Community Granting Endowments, namely, Duwane & Doris Bonfer Family Fund; Bruns-Gutzwiller Community Granting Fund; Steve & Linda Chandler Family Fund; City of Batesville Fund; Collier Family Fund; Ralph & Ethel Dunbar Fund; ETC Fund; FCN Bank Fund; Hartman Family Fund; John A. Hillenbrand Foundation Community Granting Fund; Hillenbrand Inc.
