In the first two weeks of April, the Ripley County Community Foundation was able to distribute approximately $16,000 from the COVID-19 Rapid Release Fund to support 8 organizations who were aiding those affected by COVID-19. Â Since then, an additional $15,500 has been granted to 7 new organizations. Â Below is a list of those recent grant recipients:
- Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce ($2,500) – to provide resources for local businesses
- Delaware Volunteer Fire Department ($500) – to assist with the purchase of a Personal Protective Equipment Gear Washing Machine
- Gibson Theatre ($2,500) – to pay utility bills accumulated due to loss of revenue from being shut-down
- Hispanic Community Advisory Committee ($2,500) – to provide a COVID-19 relief fund to clients
- Kids Discovery Factory ($2,500) – to cover operating expenses due to lost revenue of COVID-19
- One Community One Family ($2,500) – to assist with additional costs incurred to provide mental health services to Ripley County teenagers and young adults
- Southeastern Indiana Voices for Children ($2,500) – to supplement programming costs which are higher due to the additional needs and decrease in donations and income created by COVID-19
All the funds from the COVID-19 Rapid Release Fund have been distributed. Â Again, the grant would not have been possible without our generous donors that allowed the Community Foundation to aid Ripley County. Â Thank you to Duke Energy, Global Atlantic, Hillrom, the Todd and Dianne Rynn Fund, Bull Fork Honey, and Bobbie Brandes.
