An Invitation to Improve the Lives of Women and Children
The Ripley County Community Foundation invites women from across the community to attend the Women’s Giving Circle: Sun, Fun, & Philanthropy Social on Thursday, August 20, 2026. This gathering offers an opportunity to build connections, learn about local impacts, and discover how collective giving can create lasting change.
Mission Driven Purpose:
The Women’s Giving Circlebrings together women of all ages and backgrounds who share a commitment to strengthening their community through philanthropy. By pooling resources and supporting initiatives that improve the lives of women and children, members of the Giving Circle are creating opportunities that extend far beyond what anyone could accomplish alone. “One of the greatest strengths of Ripley County is the wisdom, talent, and perspectives found across generations of women,” stated Amy Streator, Executive Director, Ripley County Community Foundation. “This event is designed to bring women together, build connections, and inspire us to continue to invest in one another and the future of our community.”
The Women’s Giving Circle has provided support to programs and initiatives that directly benefit local women and children. In 2026 alone, the Giving Circle has awarded $6,000 in grants to local organizations and partnered with Ivy Tech Community College to establish a scholarship that expands educational opportunities for single parents pursuing higher education.
Unveiling a New Community Impact Initiative:
This year’s gathering is extra special because we are unveiling a brand-new chapter for the Women’s Giving Circle, one that will deepen the impact this program has on the community.
The Women’s Giving Circle will “adopt” a local nonprofit, providing a three year commitment of $5,000 annually to help advance the its mission and strengthen its long-term sustainability. During this event, attendees will be among the first to learn which organization has been selected as the inaugural recipient of this transformative investment.
“This new initiative represents our commitment to creating a lasting impact,” said Ethel Rodriguez, Chair of the Ripley County Women’s Giving Circle. “By supporting an organization over multiple years, we can help strengthen programs, build capacity, and create meaningful outcomes for the people they serve.”
